John Upham Back

John Upham is a respiratory physician and clinical scientist who thinks a lot about immune dysfunction in lung diseases and targeted therapies for severe asthma. He is an established investigator and group leader who has been a part of recent successful NHMRC Project grants (4 as CIA in the last 5 years) and two CRE (“Closing the gap in Indigenous Lung Health” and “Severe Asthma”). He has been a member of NHMRC Project Grant and Assigners Panel, and an External Assessor numerous times.

After clinical training in Brisbane, John worked in Perth and Canada, before returning to Brisbane in 2007. He holds appointments with the University of Queensland and the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
